I love teri and it was a great movie however th they should've cut out lots of scenes and it was a bit unrealistic but it was great work and very Christmassy homework kind of like your average sappy hallmark Christmas movie. I really enjoyed it but other people may disagree. I think some people if I really like it or they don't like it because it's not the most amazing cinematic movie ever but it's still really nice. It's got a very warm feeling to it and it feels very Christmassy and relaxing, however, on the part where she finds love, I believe that it's a bit cheesy, but I enjoyed it so I would recommend.

Love Teri Hatcher but she is approaching her Sensational Sixties not her Fabulous Fifties. There's plenty of other actresses that would be better suited age-wise, but they are being cast in under 35 / millennial roles! Sort this out, movie-makers because it doesn't make sense to viewers when actors our age are playing different generations. Don't have your head so full of younger peoples' issues that you forget to present other age ranges appropriately. The movie industry is particularly bad at representing over 40s and whilst this show tried, it is still way off the mark. Really disappointed as Hatcher and James Tupper are in some of my favorite things, but this ain't one.

This is a pass for me on several levels. First, I agree that Terri Hatcher doesn't pass for a 49 year old. The plastic surgery was enough to make that obvious. Please. Second, James Tupper is a terrific actor and was totally wasted here - stilted dialogue, no chemistry and an unlikeable character. Next, the mid-life crisis itself is childish and shallow. Very poorly handled - everything from over-dramatic to silly. The 2 young girls acted about 12 years old. A lost opportunity if you're into an honest portrayal of lgbtq situations- and an unnecessary turnoff for folks who are opposed to this type of lifestyle. The only 2 characters who did a decent job were the ex-husband and Terri Hatcher's best friend. And as a side note: I understand the need to use Canadian studios and locations but for Pete's sake please coach the actors to avoid Canadian phases, "hey"?

Why do they have these pushing 60 actors play 50 year olds? Just have them okay their damn ages! Totally distracting because both look older than 50. The story line is convoluted and hokey in places. Meh. Teri Hatcher is kind of obnoxious in parts. James Tupper is weak and boring and his delivery is robotic and stilted. There is no chemistry between them which makes the story all the more implausible. The story line of the girls wanting to marry is fine but nothing really captivating about the movie in general. One plus? The scenery is nice and the house that Teri lives in is nice, on a lake. You could easily give this a miss.

I agree if she was turning 60, not 50, it would have been more believable. And, yes, the main character is pretty unhinged, but a lot of the story is true to life. We've had real life conversations like this with friends about how to talk to our 20-something adult children when we don't agree with their choices. As older adults, we can be far too practical and forget it was like to be young ourselves. And divorce really can rock your whole world...for years, making you question past decisions and your future direction. I welcomed a movie that talks about how life is messy, for both young adults and their older parents.

I think a lot of viewers would not have watched this had we known the real agenda with the movie, it wasn't about an older couple, they were the side story. 95% of all Hallmark movies have no kisses until the very last minute in most cases, it's become the standard for their movies, so having the young female couple kiss 3 times is kind of a slap in the face for all the other couples the movies are about. As others have mentioned, embarrassing attitudes by all involved, it's the 60's mindset of quitting the real world to travel for a year with your parents' money or somehow afford a rich lake house with your ex's money. This was possible back then because life wasn't so expensive, it's impossible now.

Irritating. Teri Hatcher moaning incessantly about turning 50, her 23 year old daughter's relationship, life choices made and un-made, moan, groan, sigh. Her ex-husband is exactly the same. Her high school boyfriend (naturally, this is Hallmark) is back and lived the carefree adventurous life and then slid easily in to single parenting his teen niece, but thinks Teri Hatcher is beautiful and wonderful, except when she's trying to stop her daughter and his niece's proposal. Shocking. Ex-husband suddenly wants her back and she's caught between 2 men. Oh my-who will she choose (that's sarcasm)? The ex-husband overplayed his reactions to his daughter's plans. The daughter and niece are 23! They were the most likable characters. This movie missed connection, empathy, reality, and a sense of sweetness. Another big miss by Hallmark.

Had this movie been geared toward 60 it would have been perfect. I love the actors; however, from the beginning there was absolutely no way Teri could pull off 49 at 57 - so the entire movie had no believability, especially those that know age. Other than that cute film but it was never a connection because if the age place on her. Looks great at 57 but not 49. You can clearly tell once the movie started and she announced 49 from her hands face etc. I'm 60 and look (from others 55) but there's no way that I could pull off 49 either. I literally have watched every hallmark movie made (even twice) this is my first review.

Mindy Quinn (Teri Hatcher) is turning 50 and having a mid-life crisis. She's been divorced for two years. Her daughter Rita dropped out of med school and is marrying Emily. Her friend Nathalie tells her to feel her feelings, and that's when Sam Berman (James Tupper) notices her. He's actually her high school boyfriend and Emily's uncle. I had little expectations for this. Of course, I wanted to see some Teri Hatcher with James Tupper. I expected a bit of bland TV romance, but this is even less than that. Her objection with the proposal is light weight and frustrating. I really need more heat from the romance. It doesn't help that Marc isn't a hunkier guy. There's no chance to develop into a real love triangle. This is a mid-life crisis. It needs some funny attempts at youthful indiscretions. It barely even has that. Maybe the big lead names heightened my expectations under the radar.
