Plot A young mother and scientist, whose world is disturbingly turned upside down when she loses her son in a tragic accident, is offered the chance to be a mother again. Only it comes at a cost, and with an unnerving twist. Cast Dan Ewing who alike the rest of the cast come across like he just couldn't be bothered. Verdict The cover art I saw was very different from that on IMDB, it coveyed that this was more of a creature feature, in reality that art is a complete lie. Beast No More is an unforgivably boring film that's hard to pigeon hole. It's horror but certainly not creature feature, not a slasher, not supernatural, it's just dull and lifeless. I'd hoped it would get going in the second half, I hope it would kick in in the last quarter, I hoped so much and it delivered positively nothing. Rants I watched the same day as Abigail (2024) it really didn't stand a chance really did it? With it's weak cast, awful direction, poor editing, dreadful cast and on account of it being consistently awful from start to finish. I need to keep my expectations for such films lower, like centre of the earth low. The Good I liked the bit where the credits rolled The Bad Very weak cast Dan Ewing simply isn't likeable Dreadful incoherent plot Nevers gets going.

Watching this abysmal wretched attempt at a horror movie was about as pleasing and compelling as watching a dog turd drying out on a sidewalk in the hot summer sun. The more that I watched, the more that I wanted to find whomever was responsible for this dreck, and punch them right on the mouth. I've seen literally hundreds of crappy horror movies, but very, very few of them could match the sheer, dismal stupidity of this movie. I've had bouts of simultaneous projectile vomiting and explosive diarrhea that were more enjoyable and satisfying than this half-assed Aussie attempt at the "Wrong Turn" movies.

Now, I was lured in by the movie's cover/poster, because it definitely looked interesting, and I must also admit that the title "Beast No More" sounded mighty interesting as well. So I sat down to watch this 2019 Australian horror movie, without having heard of it prior to getting to watch it. So I had no expectations for the movie, and I didn't know what I was getting myself into. I will say that the acting in the movie was adequate, although the storyline was rather weak. And director Aaron Warwick's abrupt ending of the movie was just baffling. The movie ended so abruptly that I went "was that really it?", especially since the movie was just starting to get interesting there towards the end. Entertainment-wise then "Beast No More" wasn't particularly interesting or outstanding. The storyline was just simply too weak, and there wasn't enough of anything worthwhile or overly interesting happening throughout the course of the entire movie. And for a horror movie, then "Beast No More" was frightfully devoid of anything overly scary or even remotely horroresque. I wasn't particularly impressed with the outcome of "Beast No More", and it just goes to prove that you can't judge a book by its cover - or in this case, a movie by its cover. My rating for "Beast No More" lands on a less than mediocre four out of ten stars. Sure, if you have nothing better to watch for a horror movie, then I suppose "Beast No More" could suffice. Just don't get your expectations up too high.

A grieving mother goes on a retreat after losing her son in a tragic accident. She goes to work as a biologist in the forest & she makes an unexpected discovery... This has been done before. The characters are quite believable & the ending leaves you saying "wtf". It's very watchable.

I don't know whats worse, the acting, the budget, the story or the arrogant feminist undertones. Furthermore, who goes on an expedition into isolated wilderness and forgos bringing a firearm with them opting instead for, literally, a gig stick. Just bad.

It baffles me that a mess of a movie like this can pass a screening test.

So much is totally unexplained or just vaguely hinted at. Were the women in the bizarre community just desperate to get pregnant or just after completely dominating their captive men sexually? Was the women's community's purpose to only keep female children while killing the little boys or abandoning them to the wilderness? If so, where were the female children? If, so what was the boy's obvious physical affliction in addition to his maleness? What was the 'pox' the women spoke of? Why would the other men not escape when given the chance? We get an abrupt ending that explains none of the above. I found parts of it compelling, such as the mother's feeling for the wild boy, but none of it means anything without a broader context of what in the heck is going on. We are left with chaos as a plot. Zero out of ten and a waste of my valuable movie watching time.

Caught this at Monsterfest and had to praise Jessica Tovey. Seen her in Bad Mothers so was surprised. Give this woman more roles! If anything you won't see where this film is going. I thought I had it but really didn't! 9 stars for Jessica.
