This was an enjoyable ride that hits you in all the right places. I laughed, I got choked up a bit and multiple times I was on the edge of my seat wondering what was coming next. Matt Steele showcases a brave performance as the nervous, emotional teen trying his best to shine the brightest in his high school play. A wonderfully balanced performance bringing to life a clearly unbalanced character. The supporting cast is wonderful as well featuring a stand out effort by Jayson Bernard who delivers a heartfelt performance as the overzealous failed actor turned teacher/director that tries to vicariously live through the main character and turn him into the star he himself never became. The music, production design, wardrobe hair and make up are all very well done. A lot of work clearly went into this production and it shows. The writing, direction and pace are spot on. I highly recommend this family friendly comedy that's safe for the kids but also a movie adults will enjoy.

Director: Ryan Patrick Bartley and Writer: Matt Steele have created a fun little film of Hiìgh school Broadway hopefuls finding their talent and and presents in a small school play. It's silly fun and moves quickly with a cast of characters that will capture your imagine!!!!!!

Anyone rating this a 10 is obviously a friend(or member) of the production. Anyone rating it a 1 is obviously a hater. It's a pretty average low budget indie. The story is predictable, but so are most of these high school angst ridden comedies, so it's hard to criticize that. It's the same recipe we've all seen before. Matt Steele does a wonderful job as the main character, Ricky Redmond, which is the bright spot for this movie. The production value is meh, not great but not bad. The stunt casting, which is typical in low budget indies, was more indicative of the budget as they appeared to scrape the bottom of the D List barrel for small turns throughout. The dark spot for this movie is the so called "actor" playing Mr. Aubrey. The only thing I believe when he is on the screen is that I've never felt more sorry for a pair of pleated khakis. This is becoming more of a trend in indie films with executive producers paying for roles and fake press to perpetuate this ruse that they are professional actors. Most will tell you that this tactic is a great way to lose credibility for your movie and for what? So you can fool a handful of friends and family that don't know any better? Seems like an expensive hobby. Anyway, I think this is a safe option to drop a few bucks to stream for the family.

This indie comedy brings any theater kid back to the days of high school drama surrounding who will play what role. Matt Steele does a phenomenal job playing Ricky Redmond who will do anything to play the lead in this hilarious light hearted comedy that's fun for the whole family.

If you grew up performing on stage, this is one saucy throw back. From social obstacles to self discovery, this movie hits the notes of your little high school heart.

A comedy about a bunch of LGBT characters performing a school musical... This type of thing could easily become a cliche, but this movie goes exactly where you're not expecting! There's no angsty gay romance, no melodramatic coming out story, and no musical numbers! This movie treats LGBT characters as if they deserve to be more than just devices for plots centering on oppression and identity. And it's not just some sassy version of High School Musical or (insert teen musical with a basic story disguised behind flashy musical numbers). It's actually incredibly inventive that a movie about a musical isn't even a musical at all. I guess I've focused a lot on what this movie is not. But what is it? Hilarious! Like side-splittingly funny! And it's touching. You will laugh and cry and then laugh again. It's fresh. It's diverse. It's pure fun with a lot of heart. It's also very low budget, which only adds to the charm. This movie has the makings of a cult classic. I really, really hope to see more from this creative team.
