Why I turned it off in ten minutes. There are two problems with this movie and they are significant. First of all: in the first 10 minutes, she yells "put your arms up, put your hands in the air." At least a dozen times. Over and over and over. If you have to tell people to do that every 40 seconds, then your performance is completely failing. If you can't make them organically put their hands in the air, that's a huge problem with the performance and production. And worse, it completely fails on a television screen at home. You can't really TELL people to have a great time at your concert over and over. Either you make it happen or you don't. Smaller problem was that for the first 10 minutes we barely even see gaga. She's in some Fritz Lang Metropolis/Hungarian brutalist sculptural prison and we can't even see her. You needed to open with behind the scenes footage of her up close, make it personal, give the home viewer bonus behind the scenes access. THEN we would be ok waiting a while to really see her again. So, may have been a good concert, but as a film it completely fails.

It's 2022. Lady Gaga is performing on The Chromatica Ball concert tour in Dodger Stadium in L. A. The tour was delayed due to COVID. By 2022, everybody was glad to be out without a mask. This is strictly a concert film. Lady Gaga is credited for everything. Most importantly, she's credited as director. Quite frankly, she should consider recruiting someone more skilled and experienced. This HBO special is fine. There is no behind the scenes footage or anything interesting outside of the concert. The concert itself starts with Bad Romance and Gaga encased in an Autobot suit. One is enticed by her songs and her outfits. The problem with the first outfit is that it immobilizes her. There is a turn table but that's it. She needs more kinetic energy. She's not known for kinetic dancing. So it would be better to add theatrics. If she's immobilized, a bunch of hot shirtless men in hardhats should be ripping away the Autobot suit piece by piece. They could use heavy tools and sparks can fly. It's all for the drama. At least, it wouldn't be stationary with only the dancers to distract. All in all, this is a concert film, no more, no less. It's heaven for any Gaga fanatic.

Her music is outstanding in this, BUT whoever did the video editing SUCKS. My goodness, video clips every 2-3 seconds and can't even focus on her for longer periods of time. I give this a 5 because of the video editing. BTW....looks like a lot of lip syncing going on unless the editing got the audio track off slightly. I am sure the actual concert was more enjoyable to watch and those who paid the big bucks for sure enjoyed the visuals. If you really enjoy watching concert documentaries and focus is on the lead singer and individual band members for video clips lasting at least 10 sec, FLOP!!!

She has morphed into this persona that's so uncharismatic, unlikable. The fun Gaga used to be better. The dance moves are the same. Eh. You know it's a crap concert, when you are playing candy crush through most of it. Gaga first concert was pretty amazing. She's sold out. Every concert has the same mummy moves. Nothing is exciting. Nothing breaks boundaries. Never did I think I would say Gaga just does things to get shock value to stay relevant. She just doesn't inspire anymore. Granted she does have some pretty impressive pop tunes, but it's the character itself has become unlikable and boring.
