Movie Review: Pauli Go! IN A NUTSHELL: A young AI prodigy gets rejected from a world-renowned robotics lab and does what any rational teenager would do - steal a van and drive across the country to Northern Minnesota to track down the Professor who rejected him. The film is directed and co-written by Andrew Nackman. This is only his second feature film. The movie was based on a character he developed for the 2012 short film named "Paulie". Movie Review Mom GRADE: B THINGS I LIKED: Ethan Dizon is the young star in the movie. You might have seen him in Sony/Marvel's Spiderman: Homecoming or Avengers: Infinity War. He does a great job. Madison Wolfe is the co-star of the movie and she also does a good job. You might have seen her in the Will Ferrell/Zach Galifianakis comedy The Campaign. Her character has a YouTube channel where she teaches people how to fish. As a Youtuber, myself, I'm also interested in seeing how they're represented in movies. The film was made in Nevis and Park Rapids, Minnesota. We get to see some of the 10,000 lakes in the beautiful state. What a beautiful part of the country. There are some cute one-liners and other humorous moments. At about the halfway mark, the plot takes a surprising and insightful turn. NO SPOILERS! Filmed with a small budget, the movie has charm. The movie has enough satisfying resolution, even though not all of the storylines are finished at the end of the movie. THINGS I DIDN'T LIKE: There are some bad acting moments. The two leads are young, so they have a lot of experience and learning to do, but they're off to a good start and show great promise. Some of the camera angles aren't as good as they could be, sacrificing background for close-ups. TIPS FOR PARENTS: Some profanity (spoken and written in subtitles) You see a buxom girl in a bathing suit. A teen drinks alcohol Talk of teenage pregnancy THEMES: Friendship Human connection and relationships Robotics Artificial intelligence Rejection & acceptance Education Take a chance Follow your heart Nature Bullies Fear Facing your problems Love and loss You can see the full review on my Movie Review Mom YouTube channel.

This is a sweet story of two young misfits who find each other and persue an adventure together. There's no violence, no crazy sex, no foul language, just two teens out to find themselves and hopefully achive a goal. The bonus in the story is 'a twist' you won't see coming. Ethan Dizon as Paulie and Madison Wolfe as Avery have a certain enjoyable chemical attraction to one another which makes this story so enjoyable. Give it a try for easy summer entertainment.

A film with heart as big as all outdoors! Terrific character development AND acting, by two amazing young artists, with a story-line that's heart warming and realistic too. Give this jewel a watch; you'll forget about the current troubles in the USA, at least for the movie's duration! <3.

A movie you'll go back to! It's sweet, funny, thought provoking, relevant and familiar. It's does a great job of making you think about issues that are relevant today, as well as timeless. I wish my coming of age story looked like Paulie Go!

We were looking for a movie night break from cable news & Paulie Go! Hit the mark. Great coming of age journey story about finding your place in the world, achieving goals, and the importance of connecting to others. The tweens particularly loved it. But well balanced - we adults laughed, too. I love discovering these indy gems.

Fun movie to watch! Terrific acting and character development. A story that I think is perfect for the times in which we are all connected via the internet but still struggle to find meaningful and genuine connections. Highly recommended film! 🙂

Refreshing, engaging, with hilarious one liners throughout. A guaranteed fun watch. I is a coming of age story and more. I am in my 70s and the show uplifted me while at the same time challenged me. Brilliant close ups of characters alongside perfectly placed pauses highlighted feelings such that we in the audience were drawn into the emotion of each character. I adored the authenticity of these characters, their blunders and brilliance. Of course, the scenic setting on prized lakes of northern MN are a joy to sink into. The fishing scenes seemed authentic, maybe not the big fish, but then again maybe. And the old cabin scenes were right out of the 1900s with field stone fireplaces, furniture collected over the years, homey and natural. That's what I liked about the whole film. The naturalness of the setting and the characters, so believable. Let me mention again the clever dialogue. I could go and on and on about the clever humor, Don't miss this film. It's a winner!

In the middle family, yet coming of age, more hi/fy than scy/fy, sweet and humbledramedy made on a sober budget and a pretty small cast, yet more than 3 casted. A film about loneliness and wanted solitaire, parenting and family, moral and ever so reluctantly love. I wouldve fallen in love at first glance over the female cast physical appearances, not like the nerd of the show does, but he'll realise that in the end fortunately. Its a basic production, the cast delivers okydoky, without much flawing about, there is a policemancaracter, and searching for good stern face comedy then youll find some in here. Not much profanity nor sex, even though some sexuality if sportfishing in a bikini comes under that definition. The grumpy old man liked the view(just like bo derek did back in the 70's), and on top of that a pretty flawless product gets a little recommend.
