For me, this is the best of the trilogy! Why? This movie has everything the other two pieces also have, but it provides some extras: absolutely great acting and the use of a bit of humor. The story is the most beautiful of the trilogy, better than Bleu and Rouge. One of the best pictures I've seen!

They call it weakest among the three. I can understand why. This is the most interesting to watch of all three, but not as philosophical as the other two. The story is a different form of love story. You least expect it to end like this. Story goes like, Dominique after her divorce with Karol, makes it sure that he lives a life of hell. We expect him to, either takes revenge or get her back. However, most of the time goes in showing the afterlife, how he got back to home and became rich. The part is really entertaining, but doesn't help the story. I have never seen this side of love before, in any film. Almost as good as Blue(first part).

Kieslowski's "White" is a tonal shift from the brooding Blue - but calling it a comedy, even a black one, is a bit of an ask. He reunites Zamachowski and the legendary Jerzy Stuhr from his similar "anti-comedy" finale of the evergreen Dekalog but we see painfully little of the two of them together. It's a rather tragic story of relationship equality achieved through mutual punishment - piled high with strange incidents, some striking, others just plain unlikely. Not his strongest work for me but still interesting.

***May contain unintended spoilers*** He travels by suitcase since he doesn't have money or a passport. A meek and gentle man, he can take on mafiosi types and beat them at their game. Without the benefit of smooth transition, he becomes a slick-haired, well-dressed tycoon; and, although the police is interested in his whereabouts at one point, he has the nerve to walk into a jail house. Although this movie is not boring, and is a must-see if you want to understand completely the trilogy's conclusion, it leaves you with more questions than answers. For instance, why is so much of the French flag's white represented by dirty Polish snow? Because the authors of this piece are Polish? And, if such is the case, why do they make Poland look so unappealing? The movie absolutely lost me in the scene - thankfully at the end-- where Karol sees a woman in a window, framed in white, and when he looks at her through his binoculars, she is standing against a red background.

I have lived both in Paris and Warsaw, so this film was nostalgic in so many ways. The cinematography amazed me, as did the acting. The Polish actors are ones I have seen many times on the screen, and they proved yet again that talent knows no language. The story had some unexpected twists and stayed close to the depth of the human heart.

a movie which has a very simplistic senario but at every turn asstounds and this happens right up till the increadable finale and at all times is very real in terms of human interaction of the charactors which make the movie hit home a lot harder at the end of the movie it makes you feel lots of strong conflicting emotions the main one being im glad i watched three colours white by far the best in my opinion of the trilogy. sorry mrs binoche

The second part of Krzysztof Kieslowski's "Three Colours" trilogy, this one represents white. Much of the whiteness comes from the bleak snowy landscapes of post-Communist Poland, where the central character, Karol Karol (Zbigniew Zamachowski) finds himself. How he gets here from his marriage annulment in a Parisian court is pure farce. Talk about living out of a suitcase. Part of Karol's determination against adversity is to gain some kind of revenge on his ex-wife, Dominique (Julie Delpy), and the scheme he dreams up involves faking his own death. Part droll comedy, part satire, this is full of clever details and quirky moments, although the story does lose focus from time to time. Zamachowski puts in an engaging turn as the downtrodden man destined to be one of life's runners-up.

Only a beautiful story about love, friendship and betrayal. Very well- directed, brilliant actors, moving story. And way better than "Titanic".
