Same plot - different character names and towns. Somehow, a tree lighting ceremony is going to save their town.

This is a heart warming and romantic story that creates suspense and can be enjoyed by all ages from young to old. I watched remotely with my children and grandchildren and we loved the production from the acting to the scenery and story line. We thought the two leads were well suited to each other and were hoping that they would end up together. The female stars, Rochelle Aytes and the little girl, played by Grace Sunar were outstanding in thier roles. The young child added warmth and a lot of emotion to the production due to her circumstances

I'm new to the Hallmark movie viewing, and I do enjoy a movie, no matter the source. A Christmas Tree Grows in Brooklyn is the sweet story of Erin Chambers who mets the good looking neighbor, Kevin Snyder, of her best friend while at a Christmas gathering. As a member of Brooklyn's city planning, Erin is tasked with helping Brooklyn City Council find the perfect Christmas tree for a revitalization campaign. She finds the tree, and in the process may find love, but it's going to be a challenge to lock down both. A sweet reminder about the importance of adoption, mentoring and enjoying the delights of the season. Its appeal lies in the fact that the characters are believable and it shows slices of everyday life that many know as they navigate work, relationships, and life choices. Enjoy it for what it is, a Christmas movie that makes you feel good.

Yes, this movie is absurdly similar to another Hallmark film, Miss Christmas. I do have to condemn the Hallmark staff who thought it would be a good idea to plagiarize themselves so blatantly. Christmastime is a PLAYGROUND of romance and movie ideas; there is absolutely no reason to start recycling ideas, especially not with actors who are genuinely talented and deserve their own storyline. All that being said, I really enjoyed this movie. The actors had wonderful chemistry and were believable in their roles. I also cannot stress enough how much I enjoyed the mid-fight kiss -- this is a trope that Hallmark almost never employs and really amps up the romantic tension between the couple. I also want to give props where props are due: I'm impressed and very happy that Hallmark has started taking representation so seriously. All of the main characters in this film are POC. Some of the side characters are LGBTQ. And as a cherry on top, I really love that this movie has branched out from the usual cookie cutter family dynamic and shines a light on adoption. All of the above are refreshing, progressive, and just downright nice to see on TV, and those elements actually made this film better than Miss Christmas for me. My two beefs with the film are: 1) as others have pointed out, the ridiculousness of this town having trouble finding a suitable Christmas tree in Colorado, and 2) that using a particular tree on a particular residential lot is somehow a turning point that could flip the entire mayor's career upside down. These conflicts were a bit thin, but I was willing to overlook them for the sake of the movie, as one sometimes has to do for Hallmark.

I am a sucker for these flicks and this one did not disappoint. And in fact it exceeded expectations. The cast is delightful and diverse and the message of positivity and inclusivity is one we should all embrace. This film has clever dialogue, a lovely setting and a fun plot. Enjoy!

I really enjoyed this film. The story was warm and festive, family-friendly, inclusive and fun! There was palpable chemistry between Rochelle Aytes (as Erin) and Mark Taylor (as Kevin) and I found myself really rooting for their romance. Grace Sunar (as Claire, Kevin's daughter) was wonderful! The scenery, props and sets were festive and well-polished and I would have enjoyed taking a stroll through that Christmassy town. I only hope that Hallmark will set another story in this enchanting town, and we'll get to see the town's Christmas from Neil (Jason McKinnon) and Mitch's (Matt Hamilton) perspective. If you are a fan of Hallmark movies, this one is a must watch!

I was so enraged by the premise that a town could just take someone's tree by eminent domain, that the movie just falls apart under the weight of that burden. The poor guy and his daughter were so put upon by the town, the mayor, and the mayor's daughter, that any love story arising out of that is more fictional than the town's name (what... was "Detroit, Colorado" taken so they went with Brooklyn?) Any town that would do something like this to one of its hard-working firefighters deserves only bad things. Had that news gotten out, I think they'd see a vast migration out of the city, rather than businesses moving in. Or at the very least, the mayor and the city council deserves to be fired at their next elections. All of that would have earned 2 stars from me, but then Hallmark also snuck in the wokity woke gay moments, so there goes your pity star, you're now a 1-star film.
