They might as well just outright kill you then to put you in a metal box near the ocean and make survive by the "mercies" of the so called citizens of this dystopian nightmare. I found this to be just as the globalists these days are attempting to do by giving everyone a forced digital ID ( put you in a box) then force you to follow their rules to be fed or not fed or travel and not travel (A prisoner ) Same idea here, quite terrifying to say the least. One thing they totally missed is where do these prisoners go to the bathroom? I mean like where? There is no indication of any way they can go and the cube is solid, and all the prisoners never have a poopy floor? Kind of odd. Won't see this one again it was totally hopeless and just a trip into a hell hole and a nightmare. I sure hope our world doesn't end up like this.

An incredibly disturbing film, that capitalises on the challenges of todays society. WARNING THIS FILM IS NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED! "Box: Metaphor" offers a captivating blend of stunning visuals, mesmerising sound design, and a unique perspective on crime and punishment. Keeping in mind this is one stylised movie , it's dark, claustrophobic and that adds to the charm. Lead actor Kasia Stelmach delivers a standout solo/performance, adding depth to the exploration of identity and interconnectedness. The film's immersive audio elements heighten the viewing experience, while its thought-provoking narrative challenges conventional notions. With its compelling storytelling and innovative approach, "Box: Metaphor" is a must-see for those seeking a cinematic experience that resonates on multiple levels.

In a dystopian future, crime has skyrocketed. Criminals are sentenced to die or imprisoned in a metal box. A woman has been sentenced to 7 years although she claims to be innocent. Each box is given supplies through the mercy of citizens although mostly, it shows the cruelty of humanity. This is an Australian indie. Initially, it reminds me of Cube although we are not moving outside of this box. We're kind of stuck here. That's the main drawback. There are other movies like this. I don't mind an out-of-the-box concept, but they need to get out of this box. My suggestion is a flashback to show how she was convicted. This is an undercooked idea movie. It just needs more time in the oven.

The world has changes, and over the past few years films have been a clear representation of what we have all been through. Box Metaphor is no different, with it's not so subtle view on society and where they think it is heading. The set up is clear and simple, giving you enough to understand the film and leaving enough for you to draw your own conclusions. I can see more films like this coming out in the future and to be honest it's a breath of fresh air seeing what can be done on a micro budget. I like the way lighting was used sparingly, showing just enough to help tell the story. After all it's not a docco and stylisation is the key here, and the cinematography nailed it. There were very few actors and I would love to see behind the scenes to get a feel for how this film was shot and how they went about it. I got Buried (2010) vibes only on a lower budget a more Heart. Highly recommended viewing.

The movie opens with a compact first scene, making it clear what we will be infor the coming 82 minutes. It is a relentless barrage that at times feels like an assault on the scenes. This movie doesn't play games. It will take you on a painful ride keeping you asking questions the whole time. Clearly it is not for everyone, maybe not for anyone but here it is and I'm glad I watched it. The look pays tribute to horror movies of the early 2000s, keeping just enough in the frame and leaving the rest to our imagination. Box metaphor is just screaming for a sequel, not to answer any questions but to show off more of the other prisoners in other boxes. Slow burn, strong finish.

I'm a BIG fan of this style of movie. I have always liked films that leave you wanting more and Box Metaphor does not disappoint. Firstly, let's get all the generic negativity out of the way. Yes the film is independent. Yes it's super low budget. Yes they are all no name actors and yes it could of been better. But in saying that, everything could be better. I have seen films with half billion dollar budgets that don't hold a candle to this film. What I'm saying is, you need to manage your expectations and in doing that you will enjoy this film as I did. It is a horror film with slivers of sci-fi sprinkled through out but at it's core this is a horror/thriller film. The directing was solid, the set design goes to show what you can do for very little budget and the whole feel of the movie achieved it's goal. I was entertained and I would love to see more movies like this from every small production company. Not everything needs to be a super hero movie 10/10.

After watching this movie I had to sit there and think it through. It's a difficult watch and not for the reasons you may think. It did cover the conventional horror tropes that we have all grown to love over time. But this movie did it different. You were forced to watch it. You could not just have it on in the back ground, as everything in this movie means something. You can tell a great deal of thought went into it. I had to watch it twice as the first time I found myself looking away at a few scenes, and rightly so. Box:Metaphor hits hard and there are some parts that will stay with you. For example "You are where you choose to be", a line I have found myself repeating as I walk around the office. LOL This movie may not be for everyone, but for those who are looking for something different with a deeper message then Box:Metaphor is for you.
