Represents the plight of gay men in the 70's and 80's. The AIDS epidemic is not washed over to make it palatable but I fear it sheds a negative light on the promiscuity of the era. There is nudity, sexual situations, smoking & drugs!

A dancer breaks his leg, can't dance ever again and makes * instead. Supposedly a story of Gay excess, AIDS and drug use in 1970s New York City but beyond that, I don't know what the message was. Somehow I missed it was by Todd Verow who has made many other very poor movies. He seems to think if you have a few male full frontal scenes, and a very brief * scene, it will save the film. The character "Horse" or his stand in has a whopper and while nice to see, did not add anything to the story. I did not think the cast was unattractive. While one guy was heavy, he was hairy which is a plus to me. Seems most guys pluck all their body hair these days and for me, every guy does not need to be a gym bunny to be fairly nice looking. Still, this movie was a waste of time.

I have to admit that I read the other reviews before actively choosing to finish watching this train wreck of a movie, just to prove that I could make it. If you do likewise, challenge yourself to see how many shots or bong hits it takes to make this movie approach anything tolerable. Script, plot development, music and acting are all equally embarrassing. And, as another reviewer described, the manner in which the director mis-represents the dates of the onset of the AIDS crisis really is a slap in the face to the gay community. And a final note to the director: if you're going to make a cameo, try not to embarrass yourself as well.

I really want to rate this 1.3"! I read the other reviews and I wish I had laundry to fold as well. On the other hand, I should like to pick up that award for watching the whole movie. I thought the only awful things to come out of Bangor were in Stephen King Stories. I can't imagine who bankrolled this!

I gave the film 20 minutes to interest me, but it failed. The characters are so unattractive, especially the short fat dark sissy "friend" and the acting is so bad. Tip to directors everywhere: when an actor is not a smoker, and the script requires a smoker, make him learn how to smoke before casting him. These guys, supposedly portraying smokers because almost all adults smoked in the 70's, all look like they never picked up a cigarette or inhaled one before. They all hold them gingerly and do not know how to put them to their lips or inhale like a real smoker does.

I thought the film was really good. It felt like a true life history event of old films saved from the 70's. It reflected on trauma of past gay history and scenes that could have been real in that time. So funny to see shots of straight cinema showing "arty films". A great step back in time. Thank you.

If someone decided to create an extremely low-budget movie about waiting in line at the DMV that ran for an hour and a half, it would still be less painful to watch than this. To call it self-indulgent would be a drastic understatement. There are so many stories about the excesses of the seventies in New York City and the consequences that came after, and this is probably the most boringly tedious of them all. Bad acting, horrible script, hideous cast and even worse editing made this a film to miss at all cost.

Does that tell you how interesting this movie is? Then when I saw I'd been watching 23 minutes (felt like an hour) I decided I'd wasted enough electricity. I will not be finishing it, even going to the end, just to see 'how it ends'.

Unappealing cast,no character depth,no real story to speak of,but a bit of titilation ocassionally,of the sort that might amuse curious teens...never mind the actors,an award should be earned by anyone who can last more than 20 minutes of this complete waste of time and money.

Initially, I thought it was slow and surface, but as it played on, I realized how interesting it was as another take on the times and the AIDS epidemic. In the end, the story rang quite true to me. The lifestyle was a poignant depiction of how young urban gay men lived in many cities across the country. I thought the actors were handsome, enticing and realistic, and because it was a film about an era of * making, not *, I didn't need a bunch of airbrushed, Falcon Studio clones to get the point. Good work.
