solid movie if you enjoy scare flicks. If not then don't watch and don't waste your time bashing the movie after you did. Under ranked as all horror movies are now a days. Hard to find a new horror ranked with a decent grade. People expect like flawless acting in these films. If you don't like new horror movies stop ranking them cause all you do is mess up a review. Please all the people that ranked the movie extremely low. Please list horror movies you do enjoy that has been released recently so we can see what meats your crazy standards.
8/10 in my book quick start constant action, gets your heart moving a bit.....thats what movies like this are supposed to do.

This is your average PG-13 horror film aimed at a teenage audience. Nothing more, nor less. If you're into that sort of thing, check this movie out.
The scares here aren't bad--there's a couple scenes with a dog that are arguably pretty creepy. There's no gore. There's even an almost total lack of blood. The closest you'll get to nudity is Odette Yustman in her underwear, and that's been plastered on every poster and shown in every trailer for this movie. That chick needs to gain a few pounds.
I kept thinking, "Damn, is that Gary Oldman?" Turns out it was. He's the only actor here with any talent, and he's still pretty bad. But most horror movies have bad acting, right? David S. Goyer isn't Robert Altman, and he's not trying to be. This was made to make a few bucks and scare some kids, and there's nothing wrong with that--horror filmmakers have been doing it for years.
Like I said: basic PG-13 teenager horror film. And a decent one at that. But if you like your horror with some gore, or nudity, or even some naughty language, you should stay away from this one.

While babysitting a boy and his baby brother, Casey Beldon (Odette Yustman) has a dreadful nightmare with a weird dog and an evil child, and she tells her best friend Romy (Meagan Gold) by phone. The boy unexpectedly hits her face with a mirror, and one iris changes the color. Along the days, Casey is haunted by a fiend of a boy, and when she goes to the ophthalmologist, he asks if she has a twin brother or sister. She asks her father and discovers that her mother lost a son that died in the womb. Casey suspects that she is haunted by the spirit of her brother and finds a letter addressed to a woman called Sofi Kozma (Jane Alexander) and a creepy picture at home that belonged to her mother. She goes with Romy to a retirement home to meet Sofi, who survived to experiments in the Holocaust. Sofi tells that she had never met Casey's mother, but later she calls Casey and tells that she is her grandmother and Casey is in danger. Further, she explains that the fiend dybbuk is after her trying to be born again and stay in the world of the living. Casey questions why the evil spirit has appeared after so many years and seeks out Rabbi Sendak (Gary Oldman) to perform a Jewish exorcism on her to get rid of the dybbuk.
"The Unborn" is an underrated horror movie that has flaws and clichés, but also startles with scary scenes. The plot is a compilation of many horrors movie like "The Omen", or "The Exorcist" or many Asian horror movies and gave me the sensation that I had already seen "The Unborn". When Romy is murdered, the viewer does not hear the statement of Casey and her boyfriend to the police officer, and I believe it would be very difficult to explain what happened with the stabbed young woman and broken window. How to explain the several deaths during the exorcism? But the special effects and the conclusion are good. Despite of the flaws, I liked this movie. My vote is seven.

Funny thing. Just before this weekend I was thinking to myself, 'Where the hell are all the bad movies? About time you searched one out, lad.' Phew! In the nick of time "The Unborn" turned up.
Make no mistake, "The Unborn" was a real stinker. A horror in the worst sense of the word. I cannot imagine the wager that fine actors like Gary Oldman and Carla Gugino must have lost to get them to appear in this poo, but it must have been a big one.
Hurrah! There were some good things.
Some of the twisted body imagery was quite effective. (It was effective when it first appeared in "The Exorcist", twenty six years ago.) Also, Megan Fox lookalike Odette Yustman looked quite nice in her underwear.
Boo! There were many more bad things.
A predictable plot, cobbled together from a million other direct-to-video movies. No tension or scares whatsoever, with every story twist sign posted miles ahead. Awful acting, of course, with 'best friend' Meagan Good being top of the list of shame. Slow, boring, terrible.
I thought that "The Unborn" was absolutely dreadful. A rotten film.
Avoid.
