Float on the ocean of illiterate literature and embalm yourself in poetry and like to think that a suicidal thought might be good litterature for the vast masses, and where you may edge your intellectual shakespirian ego into even higher level of intellectuality then this film might be like manna from heaven for you.
salinger, yeah ive heard the name i think, but i might mix it up with other -inger names, you know kissinger and gunslinger and so forth. writing has never been my force majeure and that might be reflected in my reviews. so i guess that writing may reveal a lot of things about you that you are not aware of yourself. my workmates say that im an excrutiangly genius on the use of adjectives, and that ive got a fruitfull fantasy, but grammar in general hasnt been my thing, and i am proud i know the german akkusative grammar durch, fur, gegen ,ohne, um like a blister on my tounge. the rest is just blocked out like uv radiation on the ozone layer, and youll get what you get. intellect are often reflected in writing, and especially in the good old days, when the kind of handwriting would also disclose your adversary or your kind of IQ. my handwriting lead to the introduction of computers at work as it looks like rusty german 2nd world war barbwire and my ops is like a 2 year old crayon scribble. and im an expert in litteral derailments so back to the review...
its the story about a coming of age, actually an old girl growing into a young adult intellectual women, working as a secretary at a publishers agency. its a slowburning drama of personal revelations on writers methods and secrets, and the butcherlike commitment that publishers and agencies antagonizing upcoming talents in the world of litterature. its also a lovestory at many levels, on books foremost but also in human relations. its a story that lasts a year, what happens next isnt available yet.
this is food for the squemish ,the gloathers of intelectual scriptures, and insiders would love to reminice their past lives with joy and sentiment watching this flick. for the layman its a rather boring story without sex and murder, not even a real quarrel on the menu, in a rather well acted sensible edited and scored and dead on target filmographic work of the art. i do though miss a good timeline and stamp even though i see its precomputer era.
but i watched it, and i liked the baseline and its message and will therefore make a recommend, but with just 6 stars awarded from the grumpy old man
