Rory is one of my favorite comedians today, it sucks but this was a huge disappointment. The material just seemed lazy and uncreative, especially compared to his past stuff. And his performance was like he was just going through the motions. Also, I don't think the large theater did him any favors. I think Rory does much better in a smaller, more intimate setting. He can be silly and ridiculous because his vibe is more compatible to a small night club feel. His netflix special is one of my all time favorites, his album Dilation is also one that i've enjoyed and listened to multiple times. And his sets on conan i've watched at least 10 times each, I love them. I don't know exactly went wrong with the special except that it just wasn't very funny at all. I'm not interested in watching a comedian make observations about stuff to nod my head and agree, the point is to be funny and this special didn't make me laugh very much.

I was watching Seth Meyers and saw Rory Scovel on as a guest. I found him amusing and I was having a terrible day and needed a little lift so I decided to watch the comedy special he was plugging. I always have low expectations with comedians I haven't seen before because I've seen some real snoozers. I didn't quite know what to expect, but I did not expect to laugh so immediately, so hard, and for so long. I can't believe how funny it was. My SO and I watched it together and we were practically on the floor throughout the entire special. I had to pause several times to catch my breath from laughing so hard. I feel great now after watching this. It was exactly what I needed.

This special is excellent!! Rory Scovel is simply one of the best stand up comedians out there right now. He's been doing comedy for a long time, and this special shows his seasoned veteran status. When you've been mastering your craft for the as long as Rory has, you get a special like this. Quirky without being tryhard. Funny like it's his job AND his personality. A little dirty, a lot silly, and intelligent when he wants to be. He makes some spot-on life observations and he's not afraid to "go there" if and when he wants to, but he doesn't go there just to be controversial or shocking. Ya done good, Rory. Ya done good. If you like standup comedy, you'll like this special and you'll like Rory Scovel in general. Go watch it.

I got through about 20-25 minutes of this before I called it quits. There were maybe two jokes that landed and 'everything in between' was utter nonsense. The quality of comedy and tv in general has gone down. I was generous in my 3 star rating. I really don't know what people find humorous about comedians these days. They steal and repackage older comedians' material and it stinks. To me he was slightly better than Amy Schumer and I can't stand her. I'm religious and can't laugh at religious jokes, even the darkest and dirtiest but his jokes were so unfunny. No punch lines, just constant rambling,

This is, imo, his best special. He kept some of the more experimental and different things he does on stage to a relative minimum and kept it pretty tight on the material. Any fan of his knows he likes to approach sets differently, whether it's doing a whole set in a German accent or country accent or whatnot, but this one is just grade A material performed by a pro in his prime. His Charleston special was really good but had a couple lulls but this one was sharp with biting commentary on religion so if you're offended by religion jokes easily, don't watch. Otherwise, it's absolutely hilarious.

I didn't know who this guy was before I started this special and I'll probably never watch anything by him again. He spent the majority of the show talking about how they were taping a special and threw like 10 minutes of actual stand up material out there. And his material, if I closed my eyes, sounded like Louis C. K. on nights he would bomb...I was honestly wondering if the laughter was piped in like he alludes to during his set, because I didn't laugh once...if he actually did rip off any Seinfeld jokes like he also alludes to, this might have been mildly funny..but he doesn't, and it isn't. Should have been called "long pauses, boring religious references, pre-teen sexual descriptions, and constant constant references about how the audience is reacting" and I could have saved an hour of my life avoiding this. I'd be pissed if I paid for a ticket to this.

It seems covid has helped spoil us with so many great comedy specials and it's a miracle that comedians can still put out a special that is not only hilarious but also has such a unique take on subjects that you'd think would be exhausted by so many other stand ups before this. But that is what's great about Rory Scovel - he has a different way of looking at things and then presents his original take in the same way. And he manages to do it without resorting to cliches or any of the usual ways that we've all seen done to death. Now it's time to write 'filler' so that this review can meet the minimum character count.
