This is a tiring classic story of a vampire coming to England.
Crates are put on a ship, the Demeter, from Romania to England, two I believe. One crate is reinforced with sophisticated locks, the other just a typical crate.
A woman, used as the vampire's sustenance (for blood), is in a crate. She somehow, inexplicably, breaks out of her crate, which is filled with dirt (from her homeland) ... when she has no strength. The other crate, the reinforced one, is intact.
The woman is then treated by the doctor, by blood transfusions ... in the 1890s. Hmm. No one questions why/how she was in a crate filled with dirt, and how she got out.
Of course, the animals and crew start being killed, ripped open, by the vampire. They start investigating and find the other crate intact/locked/unopened ... they open it, and find it empty. Hmm, how did the vampire get out? If the plan was to have someone in England accept the shipment of crates (as in other movies) ... who would that be?
Since all the scenes were supposed to be on a ship, why was it not moving? Ships in the ocean are steady?
I can mention all the firearms errors in the movie, a percussion cap rifle in the 1890s, that has multiple shots ... they did have an 1890s vintage rifle, but what is the point?
The movie was so completely ridiculous/illogical, even for vampire movies. They are in another class ... this one failed completely.
