That low-budget thriller we love to pass the time, predictable, and cute, not menacing, characters too good, and/or mean badass, in a country family atmosphere, sisters ala Ruth/Raquel separated in adoption, and the rest in us already. We know, lovely...

In addition to being a crackling good yarn, "Twisted Twin" delivers a provocative message about the time-honored question of nature versus nurture. A pair of twins was adopted by different parents. One child developed into an angel due to the genuine love and affection she received. The other family was mean-spirited and did not genuinely love their daughter. This is the story of Tessa Ann "Tess" Houston (the angel) and Samantha "Sammy" Crain (the monster). Mitch and Karen Crain were awful parents, apparently adopting little Sammy to keep up the facade of a perfect family. When Sammy reached her majority, the parents disinherited her, and she had them murdered in response. But the diabolical Sammy also hatched a plan to set up her twin sister Tess as the murderer. It was a devious scheme that she nearly pulled off. One of the key players in the film is Tess's mom Patricia. Because the two characters had such a deep bond and because Patricia had showered love on her daughter, it was never completely plausible that she would not have recognized Sammy as a fraud much earlier in the film. Patricia and Tess were so close that they would both break out in a duet when "their song" was playing on the radio. When the imposter Sammy refused to sing along, Patricia should have stopped the car right there to confront her. The actress playing the dual roles of Tess and Sammy was terrific. She created two distinct characters and discovered depth in each of them. There was excellent "trick photography" in the scenes where the twins appear together, especially in the wrestling match on the floor of Grammy Parker's cabin. The tight screenplay kept the action moving at a brisk pace, and the denouement with Sammy in an orange jumpsuit was surprising in the genuine feelings shared by the twin sisters when Tess visited Sammy in the correctional facility. Mark Twain wrote an unforgettable novel called "Pudd'nhead Wilson," which traces the same theme as this film with an even more profound sense of social consciousness of the nature versus nurture theme. A child's development is dependent on the same care that Tess provided to her beautiful horse Pepper: unconditional love.

Saw this coming on lifetime and recognized the girl who plays the twins (Lorynn York) from a Netflix movie I saw recently, so decided to check it out even though I wasn't expecting much from a lifetime evil twin movie. But it was actually pretty good and much better than most of the TV movies I watch - I'm really into lifetime/hallmark flicks-Some are good, some are barely watchable. This one is definitely in the really good column and is worth checking out

This was a good story. The acting was good and Lauren, well she was twice as good in this one! The acting was good on all parts and the story line was good. A couple little things that could have been cleaned up like good Lauren getting out of the hospital. The cop, after standing by the door so long, just happened to decide to go get some food at the time of the escape. But, a minor thing. I really liked the touch at the end at the prison. More Lauren Swickard, please.

Was take a ride to the college with Tess or to the mom's house and show up unannounced. Problem solved. Except of course they announced their visit. I'm all for suspense but not when an obvious solution is staring us in the face. I'm going to finish watching it, but I'm not going to be happy about it. Better Lifetime "twinning" movies are the ones with Jen Lilly and Lindsay Hartley. Or go way back in time to Dead Ringer with Bette Davis.

Tess and Sammy are twin sisters separated at birth but one doesn't know about that the other is the bad twin until she shows up at her college and frames her for the murder as she switches place with her. Lorynn York does a fine job playing the twins and as the movie progresses you have to focus on which one is which! Enjoyable Lifetime movie and would recommend.

How could the mother not know within 2 seconds that this psycho chick wasn't her daughter?! After 18 years raising her she'd know in a heartbeat it was another person. There was no way on earth the psycho twin got all her mannerisms down pat after 12 hours of meeting her. And the light bulb STILL didn't go off when cops called saying her daughter is supposedly with them. You'd think she'd test the psycho twin immediately after hanging up the phone with questions only her daughter would know. So silly!! And didn't Tess have ANY friends to call to vouch for her to the cops? Other relatives to come to the station? Why didn't she insist the cops put her on the phone to her mother? Why not take fingerprints to prove who she is? For the love of God Lifetime, put a LITTLE realism into these flicks to at least make them appear plausible.
